1947 Born in Tokyo.
67 Left Rikkyo University. Apprenticed with wood sculptor Hajime Shibazaki.
79 Encountered native Japanese lacquer in Ibaraki. Has since refined Japanese lacquer using the te-kurome (manual dehumidification)method.
82 Studied under Yusai Akaji, National Living Treasure.
88 Held first solo exhibition (Ogikubo Ginka Gallery).
90 Trio exhibition “Mokujyukyo Lacquerware” at Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Department Store Main Store. (Thereafter in ’93, ’96, ’99, ’04)
91 Elder son Shigetaka enters studio. Begins to create studio works.
92 Creates Ogibo Lacquer Tree Grove in Hitachiomiya, Ibaraki.
95 Solo exhibition at Art Salon, Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store. (Thereafter in ’97, ’00, ’03, ’04, ‘06)
96 Solo exhibition at Shinjuku Isetan Department Store.

Exhibitions nearly every year thereafter (13 times).
2000 Solo exhibition at Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store. (Thereafter in ’03, ’06, ’09, ’12, ‘15)

Opened workshop in Hitachiomiya, Ibaraki for wood turnery and producing lacquer.
01 Solo exhibition at Hankyu Umeda Main Store Gallery.
04 Solo exhibition at Gallery Bigyara in Osaka. (Thereafter, biannually)
09 Solo Exhibition at Art Salon, Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store.
10 Solo exhibition at Shinjuku Kakiden Gallery. (Also in ’14)
