Welcome Message
For fifty-one years, I have pursued my chosen field and created lacquer works freely in a spirit of enjoyment, without regret. To be able to work as I do, independent of affiliation with any group and guided by my teachers and the craftsmen before me, has brought me deep happiness. This I feel keenly.
Starting with Ogikubo Ginka Gallery in Tokyo in 1988, I have shown my work in solo exhibitions with the support of numerous galleries. They include the Art Salon and Bijutsu Tokusen Gallery at the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, the Art Gallery at the Shinjuku Isetan Store, Komatsu Craft Space in Akita, Gallery Bigyara in Osaka, Ginza Mitsukoshi Gallery, and Shinjuku Kakiden Gallery. Among their customers are some who have attended nearly all my shows and others who traveled long distances to be present. I cannot fully express my appreciation to them. For me as a maker, there is no greater joy than to create in response to their expectations.
